All You Need To Know About
The Weekly Live Coaching Sessions
Which session should I attend?
On your Enrollment call or your Welcome call, you indicated a preference as to which call date/time works best for you. Please continue to attend at that time every week unless you make other/special arrangements with Maya or her team. If you need to switch to a different time, please let us know and we’ll do our best to accomodate you.
How do I access the session?
Each week, you will receive an email with a link to login to the session via an online video conferencing system called Zoom.
If this is your first time using Zoom, we recommend testing out the connection here: zoom.us/test. The first time you join, you will be asked to download a file and set up your Zoom account. This process only takes a few moments. Additional instructions on how to access a Zoom video session are here: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-How-Do-I-Join-A-Meeting- .
If you are having any trouble accessing the live meeting, please send Maya a text message to let her know.
I can't hear or see anyone (or vice versa) on the Zoom call.
If you are having trouble with the audio or video on the call, try restarting Zoom and/or your computer.
If that doesn’t work, you can go here to troubleshoot the audio: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/sections/200319096-Audio
You can go here to troubleshoot/test the video: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362313-How-Do-I-Test-My-Video-
Where can I access the pre-call questionnaire?
We ask you to answer a few questions before the call every week so that we can track your progress. You can access that via a link that is included in the weekly email you receive with the call access link. If you don’t see that email, please email support@empowerlove.us.
Are the calls confidential?
What will my first call be like?
Most people find their first call to be very exciting! However, it is also possible that you may feel some discomfort early on because everyone is new and the content is very vulnerable and intimate. Not to worry: Over time, as you hear people talk and get to know them, and you get used to Maya’s style of coaching, the level of safety and comfort will increase.
Someone on the call rubs me the wrong way, or I notice myself having judgments about them.
If you find yourself judging other members in the group, take a moment and have compassion for the part of yourself that is judging them, knowing that you probably judge yourself for that as well. Also take a moment and try to notice one way that you have empathy or compassion for their experience.
I don't understand why this person doesn't "get it" and keeps needing to be coached about this.
It’s easy to see from the outside what a member of the group might be going through and what they need to do instead, but as we know, when you’re in it, it is hard to see anything different. It’s important to have compassion and understanding for whatever a member is going through and know that your presence and listening will help them move through it.
After the call ended, I still had a question or a concern.
If you ever have a question about something that comes up in group, or if there is anything that you felt uncomfortable with on the call and you want to communicate that to Maya, please email her and let her know. Maya welcomes your questions and feedback, and would much prefer that you communicate it as soon as possible instead of holding it inside.
